The book Fairest is a young adult fantasy novel based on the Evil Queen from Snow White.The story takes place in a futuristic world where humans, cyborgs, androids, and a race of moon colonists(Lunars) all coexist. Levana (the protagonist) grew up in a poisonous household. She had the trouble of living with a cruel older sister who mentally, physically and emotionally abusive. She was grief-stricken after the death of her parents, Channary (Levana’s sister) took over the role of their parents as the rightful Queen of Lunar. Channary’s reign was short, and with Channary’s ascension, Levana began an unexpected downward spiral to becoming heartless. Not only does she impersonate ex-lovers to seduce her prey, she’s also manipulative, possessive, and selfish.
I was critically aware of the difference in perspectives based on the characters. I greatly appreciate Merissa Meyers efforts to give the readers an opportunity to explore the mind of our great villain Levana. The characters were relatable, I fell in love and empathized with them. For Instance, I knew that Levana was cruel and mean, but after reading this book, I was then able to comprehend the fact that she isn’t entirely evil. I learned that she was ones pure and as she grew up, was exposed to the corrupt society that turned her evil. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone because of its sublimity.
Oh my gosh! These series were one of my favourites! Although fairest did kind of repulse me when Levana’s husband died. Did you read the newest book, Stars Above?

Indeed I read the last book ‘Stars Above’ with much disappointment. I find the epithet of some characters in this book to be a newly introduced part of them making it difficult for me to follow the characters’ developments. Not to discourage anyone interested in the book, I believe that the last book lacks the quality of being sublime compared to the others in the series. It was perhaps an advantage presented to readers to be able to experience the novel through the perspectives of different characters, however, rather than captivating me as a reader, it merely shattered my ability to make connections with the book. I do hope to hear your opinion on this book fo it will give me a chance to explore different train of thoughts.

This sure seems like a fascinating read! A story about one young woman’s life developing, right alongside her character.
The essence of blogging is really to give readers some insight as to how you saw the book, and on that standard, I think you’ve done an amazing job. You’ve provided a quick summary that tells me just enough of what I want to know – and just little enough that makes me want to grab a copy next time I’m at the library.
There are a lot of questions that could rise from this summary though. Was Levana heir to the throne after her sister’s death? How did you come to that conclusion at the end of your post? How does the futuristic element of this novel relate to our current experiences as a society facing similar problems?
In recap, I thought this was a great summary, followed up by a slightly underdeveloped analysis of the novel. I would love to hear you flush out your ideas more, because you were talking about some pretty great ideas there, things that could really push the insight shown on this blog to the next level.
